Founded in 1984, the NSMYC decided in 1990 to relocate its 'Clubhouse' in Carthy's - Lock 17.  A Board recording all the Club's Commodores since its foundation, is on display. Owner David Carthy has himself held the role of Commodore on two occasions. The aim of the NSMYC is to cruise the Upper River Shannon waterways and enjoy the hospitality and atmosphere of the many unique waterside inns and hostelries. The Club chose Lock 17 as its HQ ahead of many other candidates!

LOCK17

Recently, Lock17 'twinned' with its namesake Pub at Camden Lock on London's Regent Canal.
The 'tour party' included owners David and Carmel Carthy, pictured making the presentation to Lock 17's Management team. A number of NSMYC Members also travelled for the ceremony and the accompanying 'craic'.
